Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about KINLORE personalised photo jewellery, picture engraving, image uploads, text personalisation, jewellery care, delivery and returns.

How does personalised photo engraving work?

Choose your jewellery, upload your photograph on the product page and add any cropping instructions. We carefully prepare the image before engraving it onto your selected pendant. You can read the complete process on our How It Works page.

Which image formats can I upload?

We accept common image formats used by iPhone, Android phones, cameras and computers, including HEIC, HEIF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, TIF and TIFF files.

What type of photograph gives the best engraving result?

Choose a clear, high resolution image with good lighting and a visible subject. Avoid heavily blurred, dark or pixelated photographs. The original photograph usually provides better detail than a screenshot.

Can you remove people or the background from my photograph?

Yes. Use the Photo instructions box to explain which person, pet or detail should be engraved. For example, you can ask us to crop everybody else and engrave only the person in the middle.

Can I engrave a pet, building or object?

Yes. KINLORE picture engraving is not limited to portraits. You may upload a clear image of a pet, meaningful place, handwritten detail or object, provided the subject can be prepared clearly for the selected jewellery.

Can I add text to my personalised necklace?

Text can be added when the product and selected option include text engraving. Enter the name, date, initials or short message in the engraving field shown on the product page.

How many characters can I engrave?

References A12, PO12, A9, PO9, A11 and PO11 allow up to 15 characters, including spaces. All other references allow up to 10 characters, including spaces. The product page will display the correct limit automatically.

Can I send my photograph after ordering?

No. Your photograph must be uploaded before the personalised product can be added to your basket. This helps prevent incomplete orders and allows us to begin preparing your engraving without avoidable delays.

What happens if my photograph is unsuitable?

If the image does not provide enough usable detail, we may contact you to request a clearer photograph before engraving begins. This can delay production, so please upload the clearest version available.

Can I change my photograph or engraving after ordering?

Contact us as soon as possible through our Contact page. We will try to help if preparation has not started, but changes cannot be guaranteed once work on your personalised jewellery has begun.

Will my engraved jewellery look exactly like my photograph?

A photograph contains colours, light and very fine detail, while jewellery engraving translates the image into delicate engraved lines. Our team prepares each image to preserve the most recognisable features, but the final result will naturally have the refined appearance of an engraving rather than a printed photograph.

Is the picture printed onto the jewellery?

No. The prepared design is engraved onto the piece using a precision diamond engraving process. It is not a printed sticker or surface photograph.

How long does a personalised order take?

Each piece requires image preparation, engraving and quality checking. The current estimated production and delivery information will be shown on the relevant product or delivery information page. Orders may take longer if we need to request a replacement photograph or clarification.

Can personalised jewellery be returned?

Because personalised and custom made items are created specifically for you, they are generally not eligible for a change of mind return. This does not affect your legal rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described. Contact us promptly if there is a problem with your order.

How should I care for my jewellery?

Store your jewellery separately in a dry place. Avoid direct contact with perfume, creams, household chemicals, chlorine and salt water. Remove it before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping, and gently wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wear.

Is KINLORE jewellery suitable as a gift?

Yes. A personalised photo necklace can make a meaningful gift for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, remembrance and other important moments.

What does the KINLORE lifetime warranty cover?

Our lifetime warranty provides additional reassurance against qualifying manufacturing and engraving workmanship defects. It does not cover normal wear, gradual plating changes, accidental damage or incorrect care. Read the complete terms on our Lifetime Warranty page.
